The University of Dayton offers numerous services to our international students:

International Student and Scholar Services
Located in the Center for International Programs, the International Student and Scholar Services staff assists international students with a wide variety of areas such as immigration issues, counseling, personal advising, social and extracurricular activities, and emergencies. The office also serves as a link between international students and the rest of the University and the surrounding community. The International Student and Scholar Services Coordinator is fully authorized to issue I-20s for students to apply for an F-1 visa and DS-2019s for those applying for a J-1 visa through an exchange partnership.

Academic counseling
The Intensive English Program provides academic counseling to all students in the program whether they choose to continue academic study at the University of Dayton or at any other university in the United States. The Academic Advisor will guide you through the entire application and admission process, from requesting information to submitting a correct and complete application form.

For students in the higher-level intensive English classes wishing to take part-time course work at a local university while completing English studies, the Academic Advisor will assist in course selection and registration. These courses provide college credit.

Conversation Partners Program
International students may practice their English speaking skills through the Conversation Partners Program. University of Dayton students, faculty, and staff, and people in the Dayton community volunteer to have weekly conversations with participants in our Intensive English Program so they can learn about each other's culture.

Students may also participate in regular Coffee Hours which include Open Socials, a good time to meet American and international students in a friendly, informal setting.

Language Learning Center
Our students may also use the Language Learning Center on campus. This media and resource center uses instructional technology to improve a student's language skills.

Computer access
All students within the University will have an individual University e-mail account and access to the Internet. You will also have access to the University’s network from any of the computer labs, on-campus houses or via the UD Portal. Once you have registered for classes, your computer account user name and password will be available from the Activities Director.
